Welcome to the Wye Valley & Forest of Dean Tourism Association

The logo of the Tourism AssociationWe are an association of local businesses all claiming their livelihood in whole or in part from the tourism industry in the area.  We came into existence on 6 December 2006 as an amalgamation of the two separate organisations that represented the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean as we feel that this whole area, which encompasses an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, should be viewed and promoted as one tourist destination.

The Association is rightly proud of the huge range of attractions, activities and natural beauty that the area now have to offer the visitor, and we aim to promote ourselves and the area nationwide. In addition, we have become well known for our production of specialist food and drink, which adds to the visitor's experience. Our aim is for high quality, sustainable tourism and to this end, we continue to work closely with the three local council tourism departments.

If you have a tourism business in our area, we hope that you may wish to join our Association for only £60 per year.  The benefits of membership include:

  • Membership of a Trade Association including discounts and offers
  • Advertising on our website
  • Advertising in our brochures

The information on this and linked pages is specifically aimed at members of the Association, although non-members are quite welcome to read them.

Association policy on political matters

The executive committee aims, wherever possible, to represent the views of its members.  From time to time, due to the inevitable diversification of political views shared by its members, we may not be able to offer a consensus view which is truly representative of the association’s membership
